Let's go Fishing

Steven Foster and I are headed over to the Yakima River for a day trip on Friday, 5 Feb'21. The plan is to meet at 0700 at the Marches Point Park and Ride in Anacortes and hit the road. We hope to be in the canyon section of the river by 10-ish, waders and hand warmers ready. Last time we did this, we started at mile marker 19 just below Bighorn Campground and worked our way downstream for the next several hours. At the end of the day, road trip home.

We plan to fish 4-5wt floating lines rigged for nymphs and streamers. Euro nymphing with jig hooks may be a nice play in some of the seams. The river is running at 1370cfs at Umtanum, so we should be able to access gravel bars and islands that we not available last time out.
