Omak Lake was tough
Four Fidalgo fly fishers hit lake Omak Fri May 17th through Monday 20th with marginal success. Mark Gilmore arrived Friday afternoon, I fished 3 hours that afternoon with four fish landed. Saturday Mark and I fished, me again 4 hours with four caught/lost. Then Monday Mark, Bill Boetcher, Steven Foster and I fished in the morning. I arrived at the lake at 630 with Mark shortly after and Steven and Bill arriving about 830. i caught one 23 inch male plus 7 others and lost 3 before leaving for home at 1000am. Met a former Marblemount hatchery guy, now with DOE who is a master Omak Lake fisher, Clay K. Will add pictures of his flies and mine that were successful plus Steven F landing the 23 inch Lahotian cutthroat.
