Lone Lake
I fished Lone Lake on Monday, May 11. Lone is a long drive to get to, but offers a larger parking lot than Pass, and much larger fish. I wound up with 6 or 7 fish on Monday, all on small chironomids. I measured one at a very FAT 19". I reminded me of Canada. One bent my hook and escaped. The bad news is that it is late in the season. Water temperature at the surface was 69 degrees, although that must be very close to surface, as the fish are still very strong and a few jumped over 2 feet out of the water. It will not last must longer!

This is a picture of the bent fly described above. It was tied on a size 20 3XL heavy wire hook. I have used this brand for years, and this is the first time that happened. Sorry for the poor quality, but I do not have a close up lens, and that is a small fly.

Dave,
Thanks for the report, it sounds like a worthwhile trek down to Lone Lake. That straightened hook is interesting!
Thanks, Bill
