Suggestions for Methow access, flies, techniques?

I'm going to E. Washington for few days and thought I might drive over N. Cascades Hwy and fish the Methow for a few hours. New water to me: any suggestions on where to access? (I'll be on foot). Any other info about bugs, etc would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You can also check with Mark Nilson. I understand that he was headed over there this weekend. He was thinking that the river might be too high to fish given the Spring runoff.

I am not an expert on the Methow but I have floated it before. It is a beautiful river to fish and the way you fish it and flies etc. are exactly what you might expect with any Eastern WA river. I don't know any secret , wade in spots but I suspect just about any pull-off would work. Parachute Adams, Pheasant Tail Nymphs and if all else fails, a squirmy wormy can always save the day.
