The Ghost
I've been playing around with wildlife photography for a couple years, and while reviewing some photos the other day, I ran across this one. A friend and I had spent two days fishing various reaches of the Yakima River and stopped off to fish the uppermost stretch--immediately below Keechelus Lake. This portion of the river is known for its brook trout population, and not having caught brookies for a number of years, I wanted to enjoy their beautiful coloration again. The water was a bit high, but a few fish were eager enough to take an elk hair caddis. I snapped a picture of this one with my cell phone, not thinking much about it. It wasn't until I downloaded it to my computer that its striking nature caught me.
